教務長韋永庚公布，校委會本科生代表席位兩人參選，分別為學生會會長、文學院二年級黃政鍀及工程學院一年級Faizan Anwar Nomani。投票期由四月二十四日上午十時開始至四月二十八日下午五時結束，所有本科生均可投票。
兩名參選人為學生會會長、文學院二年級黃政鍀及工程學院一年級Faizan Anwar Nomani。兩人均有在教務長之公告中介紹自己參選的理由及政綱。黃表示，校委會「主宰我校長遠發展」，有見近年多宗腐朽的事件，他認為必須「寸土必爭，一同監察校委會，守護我校」。黃的承諾包括(1)要求公開「檢討大學管治專責小組報告」及盡快修訂《香港大學條例》、(2)監察校方政策及長遠發展策略、(3)監察深圳醫院還款進度、(4)檢視現時針對學術欺詐的政策及機制、(5)監察管理層人事變動之遴選進度，並在尊重保密協議之前提下，適時向公眾公開相關資訊、(6)修訂防止賄選的相關守則及程序，以及(7)確保CEDARS與通識教育部相關合併的決定於會議內有充份討論。
Nomani 則指出校委會令港大學有效運作、保障大學尊嚴，希望加入校委會以服務港大。Nomani 指過去在學校參與監管事務令其有各種勝任校委職責的能力。他承諾以最大的誠意及投入履行其職務。
投票期由四月二十四日上午十時開始至四月二十八日下午五時結束，結果將於結束當晚公布。所有本科生均可投票。投票會透過HKU Portal 舉行，投票細則將於稍後公布。
當選人將於五月三日上任，任期一年，並須以個人身分成為受託人履行職務，不受任何其他組織的決定約束。
另外，教務委員會選舉的兩名候選人陳希朗及孫曉嵐獲宣布自動當選，任期分別由五月三日及六月七日起計一年。
