校委會宣布成立物色委員會及遴選委員會，遴選下任校長。
校務委員會校外委員施文信博士發電郵，指校委會於本年二月二十八日的會議中決議成立物色委員會及遴選委員會，遴選下任校長。電郵指，物色委員會的工作為委任獵頭公司，並基於校委會訂下的遴選準則向遴選委員會建議合適人選。
物色委員會由一名校委會成員擔任主席，並由三位分別代表三個學院分類的首席教授擔任委員，名單如下：
施文信博士 (主席)
王于漸教授 (文學院、經濟及工商管理學院、教育學院、法律學院、社會科學學院)
顏慶雲教授 (建築學院、工程學院、理學院)
劉澤星教授 (牙醫學院、李嘉誠醫學院)
電郵亦指出，物色委員會已委任Perrett Laver為獵頭公司，進行公開招聘。大學成員可電郵至[email protected] 就物色委員會的工作提出意見及建議。
校長馬斐森於二月二日宣布辭職，並將於明年一月離任，轉任愛丁堡大學校長。
