二零一八年度學生會評議會第一次常務會議2月23日於學生會大樓地下舉行，意味著學生會已全面換屆。去屆社會科學學會代表陳思齊當選新一屆評議會主席。至於評議會各常設委員會開放與基本會員參與的席位今年僅得數名同學參選，較過去兩年大幅下降。
會議於昨晚六時四十五分開始，主要處理學生會換屆事宜，議程包括選舉新一屆的評議會主席及評議會榮譽秘書，委任學苑、校園電視、評議會秘書處及評議會各常設委員會和司法委員會的成員。去屆社會科學學會代表陳思齊是評議會主席唯一候選人，而教育學會主席沈中傑同樣是評議會榮譽秘書唯一候選人。兩人先後以24票贊成、0票反對、2票棄權及23票贊成、0票反對、2票棄權當選。
卸任評議會主席的陳浩文則感謝過去兩屆評議員的支持，並總結過去的經驗，希望評議員反應更主動，更積極發言，並遵守各項守則和協助改善評議會運作。卸任評議會榮譽秘書的唐銘濂除了同樣希望各評議員遵守各項守則外，更希望屬會妥善保存自己的文件，不應視評議會秘書處為借閱處；在評議會委員會方面，他建議考慮改變現時甚無效率及無效的委任制度。
會議上亦處理評議會各常設委員會及評議會司法委員會的基本會員委員及非幹事會評議員委員任命。當中，曾經競爭激烈的時事委員會八席基本會員席位今年只有五人遞交申請，大學事務委員會更無接獲任何申請。詳細委任名單請參閱學生會評議會網站（hkusucouncil.wordpress.com）。
