據本報取得的文件顯示，法律學會重申在與「GET」公司合作時，有依法處理會員私隱，並建議幹事在日後登記會員資料時，以通告解釋有關私隱條款。據了解，法律學會已回覆私隱專員公署來函，但幹事會未有披露回覆內容。
法律學會幹事會為特別會員大會準備的書面報告中指，法律學會曾與「GET」簽訂了具法律效力的協議，「GET」的身分則是獲授權的資料處理者。協議中只賦予「GET」儲存學會會員資料的權力，而「GET」不能將資料授予第三方使用，亦有責任確保資料處理過程符合香港私隱條例。而法律學會在得悉有會員就「GET」向他們發出的短訊表達關注後，已終止與「GET」的合約，「GET」亦已於三月十二日刪除所有法律學會會員的個人資料。幹事會亦在報告中建議，日後在會員註冊時列出相關資料的私隱條款，以避免不必要的爭拗。
至於個人資料私隱公署早前於三月十二日的在信件來函亦有成為會議文件之一。信中私隱專員提出十條問題，並要求法律學會須於3月25日前回覆信件，以協助公署執行《個人資料(私隱)條例》的職能，惟暫時未見有相關文件提供。
參考港大法律及資訊科技研究中心的社區法網，資料處理者是指代另一人處理個人資料及為任何人的個人目的而處理該資料的任何人。資料使用者亦須對獲其授權的資料處理者的一切行為負上責任。「資料使用者須以合約或其他方法，防止轉移到與資料處理者的個人資料，保存時間超過處理該等資料所需的時間，以及防止該等資料在未獲授權或意外的情況下被查閱、處理、刪除、丟失或以其他不當方式使用。」
法律學會第一次特別會員大會因出席人數未達法定人數，接連於三月廿一、廿五日流會。下次續會將於四月四日舉行。
