2019 暑期新聞摘要（三）：迎新活動

迎新相關

反送中運動抗爭超乎預料，打亂各學會原定的迎新活動安排，學生會評議會亦通過議案呼籲屬會考慮暫停迎新活動以支援抗爭。法律學會及社會科學學會率先於八月初宣布取消迎新營，及後其他學會亦對迎新活動作不同調整。

不過，部分屬會及幹事的言行遭不少同學聲討。其中社會科學學會財務秘書於社交平台上批評將社運與迎新營一併討論的人是「onj」、「讀屎片」、「玩分化」、行事與共產黨無異，又稱社運與迎新營兩者為「mutually exclusive」，又指罷O 與否對現時運動「無Ｌ幫助」等。本報曾向學會查詢，惟未有回應。據悉有同學正發起聯署要求召開特別會員大會，要求財務秘書交代。

此外，昨日（31日）亦有聖約翰學院新生載歌載舞的派對片段流出，其時香港各處的抗爭仍然進行中，太子站乘客更遭警察無差別暴力毆打，肆意拘捕及侮辱，以及被拒急救。有同學對聖約翰學院在時仍笙歌不綴感到嘔心。

據了解片段是聖約翰學院迎新最後一晚的Anniversary Night，由Instagram 帳戶 @bestmemehk 張貼。@bestmemehk 張貼片段後不久就收到聖約翰學院迎新委員會的代表以舍堂同學曾同意迎新內容保密為由要求刪除。@bestmemehk 向本報表示，對聖約翰學院同學不應只計畫如何蓋過事情、要求他人噤聲，而應反省為何在這敏感時刻仍在玩樂 。@bestmemehk 認為迎新應向新生灌輸大學以及社會的正確觀念，而非選擇在社會動盪之時仍只顧玩樂，因此對「所謂既sjc精英」完全失望。
