因武漢肺炎肆虐，大學宣布停課至三月二日，原定於二月舉行的週年大選將無法如期舉行。評議會於昨日（二日）的第十五次評議會緊急會議上議決不就原定大選安排重選，由選舉委員會（選委會）在復課後安排補選。
早前選委會已宣布無法如期舉行周年大選，評議會就此收到兩項投訴。由於其中一項為匿名投訴，另一項投訴沒有簽名，兩項投訴均不符選舉投訴的要求，評議會因而不受理此兩項投訴，只處理由選委會報告其違反選舉條例的問題。
就選委會的報告，評議會認為毋須就選委會無法如期安排投票作任何懲處。就是否安排重選，由於學生會憲章規定須於原選舉日後十四天內安排重選，仍在停課期間，評議會認為不是合適的安排，最終在無人贊成、十七票反對、無人棄權下否決重選安排。選委會主席梁浩朗指，原定選舉在選委會主席、評議會主席及選舉主任拒絕簽署下，正式結果為「選舉無效」，選委會因此將須在復課後安排補選。
席間有評議員曾提出修改學生會憲章以處理選舉安排，但有其他評議員指出時間上不可行而作罷。
