本屆周年大選選情似未受幹事會無人競選影響，首日投票率達3.90%，投票人數高達652人，超越過去兩年創新高。
學生會二月五日晚上公布二零一八年度周年大選首日投票率。截止五日下午六時四十五分止，校園電視 、學苑以及普選評議員的投票率分別為3.89%、3.90%及3.89%，投票人數為650人、652人及650人。翻查過去兩屆紀錄，二零一六年和二零一七年的首日投票率分別為3.19%和3.85%，投票人數則為516人和622人，即本屆之首日投票率及實際投票人數均超越過去兩年。
本屆周年大選投票期至本周五。所有學生會會員均可於校園內七個票站投票選出學苑、校園電視、普選評議員，本科生同時可投選自己學院院務委員會的本科生代表。
