社會科學學會於今日（1日）晚上於社交平台發文，就是否舉辦迎新營徵詢會員意見，為期四十八小時，結果將於4日公布。另外本報亦就日前網上稱由財務秘書發出、關於社運與迎新營的言論向學會查詢，惟暫未有回覆。
社會科學學會於公告中指明白和尊重會員就應否繼續舉行迎新營持不同意見，由於時間所限，故透過網上表單形式收集會員意見。調查由八月一日晚上十時起至八月三日晚上十時止，若有超過百分之十的會員回應，則以簡單多數決決定是否舉辦迎新營；否則幹事會將考慮收集到的意見後再作決定。結果會於八月四日公布。
問卷中同學須填寫姓名、UID、課程與年級，並就學會應否舉辦迎新營表示支持或反對，並填寫理由。學會公告中亦簡單解釋支持與反對舉辦迎新營的各種理由，供會員參考。
另外，日前網上流傳稱由社會科學學會財務秘書於社交平台發出的言論。截圖中指，把社運與迎新營一併討論的人是「onj」、「讀屎片」、「玩分化」、行事與共產黨無異，又稱社運與迎新營兩者為「mutually exclusive」，又指罷O 與否對現時運動「無Ｌ幫助」等。本報已向學會求證及查詢，惟暫未有回應。
