日前評議會耗時三小時，先後兩次否決主席人選後才選出現屆法律學會代表為該次會議主席。有前幹事發文炮轟，斥該次會議先後出現多次違規行為，認為整個會議應視為無效，並已就事件去信評議會要求開會處理。
調動議程先選秘書 參選人明言為合資格選主席
由於本屆評議會主席出缺，故每次會議上均要先選出署理主席主持該次會議。日前舉行的評議會會議上，評議會援引議事常規，由文學院學生會代表吳家齊擔任會議的召集人（Convenor），主持該次會議的主席選舉。但議程尚未開始，教育學會代表曹敏言即動議調動議程，要求先選舉榮譽秘書。議案在無人發言，無人反對下通過。
剛卸任的去屆社會科學學會代崔俊晟表隨後發言，稱自己卸任後不合資格參選現屆評議會主席，但留意到本屆評議會亦榮譽秘書同樣出缺，故希望透過成為榮譽秘書取得現屆評議會成員身份後，再競選現屆評議會主席。他又指假若當選榮譽秘書後，再當選評議會主席，他將計劃以最低程度（minimum）完成榮譽秘書的工作，並尋求其他同學協助。
有評議員認為此項議程僅需就崔是否有能力及是否適合擔當榮譽秘書，至於他會否擔任評議會主席應另作後話。但會長葉芷琳表示，擔心透過成為榮譽秘書以滿足參選評議會主席的做法會立下壞先例。
評議員質疑角色衝突工作分配 崔當選秘書失落主席
評議員亦就榮譽秘書同時出任評議會主席一職質疑崔能否處理兩者工作量及利益衝突的問題。崔在連番提問後改稱若同時兼任兩職，亦會完成榮譽秘書的工作；又指參選評議會主席是要改變現時又幹事處理評議會主席的情況，又指想成為下屆評議會主席，並已向去屆評議會主席「flow莊」。惟後來被問及關於榮譽秘書的工作時，他指暫未找過往的榮譽秘書「flow莊」，會盡快聯絡去屆榮譽秘書討論。
最後評議會通過崔出任榮譽秘書一職，惟其後以12票贊成、12票反對、2票棄權，否決崔出任評議會主席。
行秘任主席亦遭否決 法律學會代表自薦終獲接納
崔遭否決出任評議會主席後，曾多次署理現屆評議會主席職務的行政秘書馬浩天，獲建議署理是次會議主席。但席間有評議員質疑，幹事出任評議會主席有利益衝突的問題。經一番討論後，委任馬同學出任是次會議之署理主席議案獲得16票贊成、8票反對、3票棄權，評議會主席以議案未獲在席三分之二大多數通過為由，宣佈議案遭否決。最後法律學會代表張敬生自薦出任是次會議之處理主席，議案終獲通過。
前幹事指調動議程違規兼誤判議案遭否決 整晚會議或無效
學生會前幹事李梓成會後出文炮轟，會議先後出現多次違規情況。他指會議常規清楚指明，會議召集人的職能僅限於選舉會議主席，故吳同學處理調動議程的動議，已經令會議失效。而吳同學其後又以未獲三分之二大多數支持為由，宣佈馬同學未能出任署理評議會主席，但事實上並無此例，因本議案僅需獲在席簡單大多數通過。李亦批評，崔同學身份角色混亂，成為榮譽秘書後，仍先後於會議上質詢幹事及參與譴責動議的討論。李梓成指，已就事件去信評議會投訴，要求召開緊急會議討論事件，屆時會親自到場出席。
另亦有人質疑，按議事常規署理主席的任期至下次會議選出新一任主席為止，即根本不應由吳同學以召集人身份處理主席選舉。
